Watercolour Life Drawings

Not too familiar with watercolouring but I have a portable watercolour kit which is a lot more convenient to carry around than a big portfolio case with newsprint.
These life drawings are from an evening life drawing class at the Toronto School of Art a while back. I really enjoyed working in colour with Nupastels on newsprint since my days in animation school so I figured I'd give this a try. Got really inspired to mix it up when I saw Kay Huang doing some incredible, inspired and energetic work during and extra life drawing class.

Wall Escape WIP

Been watching a lot of the Keith Lango VTS videos lately. That guy is brilliant. Taking a more traditional approach to animation has been really helpful. Sorry about the low quality. Hope to have this piece done soon.

Toronto Zoo

These two owls had a lot of personality. The owl on the right put on a mean stare down while the owl on the left stood behind him and kinda peeked out as if he were the other owl's bodyguard. Both had these badass white 'X' marks across their face.

Charles, the silverback gorilla, is the boss around these parts and he demands some snow and a push.

Our little meerkat buddy nicely held this pose for quite some time.

I couldn't help but think of Kermit the Frog when it opened its mouth like this.

The circle of life.

Risk: Metal Gear Solid

It's here!
Yoji Shinkawa artwork featured only on the limited edition!
I consider myself somewhat of a board game geek though I don't play very often and have not played some of the most popular board games out there like Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico, Agricola, etc. There's just something about the tactile feel of moving pieces around, taking my time to strategize and kinda letting my imagination run wild that's just so much fun. I'm also a huge fan of the Metal Gear Solid series so when I heard from gaming blogs like Kotaku that they were making an MGS version of Risk, I just had to jump at the chance. Now I just need to find people who are willing to get together to actually play a game of Risk which probably takes longer to play than watching all the Metal Gear Solid 4 cut scenes back to back. Maybe the special rules for this version will result in a shorter play time similar to the Star Wars version of Risk I played a few months back. Won't know until I read the instructions but I think I'll keep it all wrapped up until I find some buddies willing to play.

Favorite commercial

I couldn't get enough of this commercial when it first came out. It still kills me to watch it. The reaction of the kid is so priceless, especially what he does with his eyes.
